Help Protect Blue Creek—and Our Entire Community

The proposed commercial rezoning at 7551 Blue Creek Road threatens the character, safety, and well-being of the entire Evergreen-Conifer area. Stopping it will take all of us speaking up, showing up, and staying informed.

Here’s what you can do:

Submit Your Comments to the County

Once the application is formally posted (you’ll see a yellow sign on the property), the public has just 28 days to submit written feedback.

  • Deadline to submit comments is August 30th — time is running out!

  • Written comments are essential and taken seriously by county staff and officials.

  • They directly influence how the application is evaluated—and are especially important because public speaking time at the hearing will be very limited.

  • Even if you plan to attend the hearing in person, submit your written comments in advance to ensure your voice is part of the official record.

Attend the Public Hearing

  • A Jefferson County Planning Commission hearing will follow the comment period. Public attendance shows the County that the community is paying attention.

  • If the application moves forward, a second hearing will be held with the Board of County Commissioners.

  • These meetings offer a final opportunity to express opposition—in person or in writing.

Spread the Word

  • Tell your neighbors, especially those who live near the site.

  • Post on community groups and forums to keep this on the radar.

Show Support Visibly

  • Display a yard sign to help raise awareness and show our shared concern.

  • Let neighbors know what's happening—they may not have heard yet.

  • Set a precedent for more commercial development in rural Jefferson County
